For full color documents, the speed is 4.81 ipm. To print a 4 x 6-inch borderless photo, the speed is about 43 seconds.
Flatbed is the type of scanner presented on the Canon MP287, just like most all-in-one printers. To scan a document, you lift the top of it, then place the document on top of the transparent panel.
Next, select the scan profile that corresponds to that document type, decide whether you want to scan the color or black and white pages, preview the ones that appear, and then start the scan when you’re happy with the results that appear in the preview. Don’t forget to give a descriptive name to the scanned file so that later it is easy to find.
The optical resolution on the scanner is 1200 x 2400 dpi, while the resolution you can choose ranges from 25 dpi to 19200 dpi which is the result of interpolation. It’s important to keep in mind that scanning speed is also affected by the number of resolutions you choose. For documents that don’t require high scan quality, it’s best to lower the resolution as small as possible.

There is also a photocopying feature included on the Canon MP287, this feature supports various paper sizes and is capable of copying documents at FCOT (First Copy Out Time) speeds of up to 37 seconds on a plain paper that complies with the ISO/IEC 24735 standard.
