Caps Lock is one of the keyboard keys that quite often falls victim to a wrong press. Usually this accident occurs when the user wants to press the letter A or Shift key.
In order not to happen again, the Caps Lock key must be turned off or replaced with another key, for example into the Ctrl key so that it can be used as a hotkey such as Ctrl + F1, Ctrl + F2, and so on. For this purpose, Travis Krumsick developed a software called KeyTweak.
KeyTweak is a keyboard remapper that makes it easy to edit the functionality of keyboard keys so you no longer have to deal directly with the registry.
KeyTweak Features
KeyTweak uses a virtual keyboard that serves as a visual guide. The keyboard model used is the standard keyboard of the United States which is composed of 104 keys.
Each key on the keyboard displays a number as you can see in the picture above. If you want to see a description of each button, you have to hover the mouse cursor over each button. Later the description of each button will appear in the form of a tooltip.
To deactivate a key or change its function, you have to find and click on the button on the virtual keyboard. Once clicked, information about the function of the button will be displayed. If what you click is the Caps Lock key, then the information that appears is “Key selected 30 is currently mapped to Caps Lock”.
Furthermore, in the “Choose New Remapping” section, there is a list to change the function of the keyboard keys. If you select Print Screen from the list, the Caps Lock key will change its function to a button to take screenshots in fullscreen mode.
Meanwhile, to disable keyboard keys so as not to bring up letters, numbers, or other characters when the key is pressed or pressed, click on the keyboard button you want on the virtual keyboard, then find and click the “Disable Key” button.
Once you disable or change the function of the keyboard keys, KeyTweak will not immediately apply the changes. Any changes you make will be accommodated first in the “Pending Changes” column until you click the Apply button. This means you can change several keyboard keys simultaneously.

KeyTweak has Full Teach Mode and Half Teach Mode which are intended to guide users in using KeyTweak to change the function of keyboard keys. However, it seems that both modes are made not from the perspective of ordinary users so that some users might even be more confused after trying both.
