Need for Speed Carbon is an illegal car racing game that is the 10th installment of the Need for Speed franchise and was released by Electronic Arts in 2006. The plot of the story is a continuation of the previous plot told in Need for Speed: Most Wanted. There are also many features that are similar to its predecessor series.
Like all previous series, Need for Speed Carbon also received a lot of positive responses and sales figures were also high. There were some criticisms but not to the point of negatively affecting the success of the game.
The twists and turns of the Need for Speed Carbon game
The plot of Need for Speed Carbon takes place in a fictional location called Palmont City which becomes a place for illegal speeding by a group of young people. The core of the story is the gang’s seizure of territory through various car races.
Some of the types of races you will face are circuit, drift, sprint, canyon duel, speedtrap, checkpoint, and knockout pursuit.
There are 22 circuits in Quick Race mode whose average race duration is two laps. Most routes are more than 5 km long, but there are only two routes that exceed 20 km, namely Highway 142 and Liberty Square.
For those of you who love drifting, Need for Speed Carbon includes downhill drifting races that are carried out downhill while setting the highest possible drift record. Every now and then other cars will appear that are not race participants, so every player has to be extra careful. Every time you crash, drift points will be deducted as a penalty.
Another racing event that you can participate in is the knockout chase. Basically, this event is the same as the knockout lap, where every player who is in the last position on each lap will be eliminated automatically. However, there is a little “spice” that makes it somewhat different. The losing player will turn into a policeman who will then hinder other race participants.
Equally interesting is Canyon Duel where you have to tail your opponent’s car from the starting line and will only be declared victorious after successfully overtaking and being in front of your opponent for 10 seconds.

In addition to wild races between gangs, you’ll also enjoy what it’s like to be chased by police forces. In Free Roam mode, many patrol cars are scattered randomly in various locations. When there is a police car approaching, the scanner machine installed on your car will emit a beep alarm sound. The closer it gets, the beep sound will also speed up.
Even when the race is going on, sometimes police cars appear, but it actually makes the game more exciting. For many gamers, the presence of police as one of the gameplay elements in Need for Speed Carbon is one of the reasons why they love this video game franchise so much.
