HMD revives two classic Nokia phones, namely the Nokia 6300 4G and the Nokia 8000 4G. Both handsets run KaiOS which is equipped with lots of useful apps like WhatsApp, Google Maps and Assistant.
The design of the 6300 4G is almost identical to the old 2006 version, but the Nokia 8000 4G is not equipped with the sliding keypad found on the previous 8000 series devices.
Nokia 6300 4G
6300 4G features a 2.4 inch LCD with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. The body is made of plastic and there is a VGA camera on the back.
The phone packs a Snapdragon 210 chipset and 4GB of internal storage although there’s a microSD slot for easy expansion. The 1,500mAh battery is detachable and charges via microUSB. Nokia claims the phone can last up to 25 days in standby by activating 4G.
Other extras include a 3.5mm headphone jack, FM radio receiver and Wi-Fi hotspot functionality.
The Nokia 6300 4G comes in Light Charcoal, White and Cyan Green colors and sells for € 49.
Nokia 8000 4G
The Nokia 8000 series usually offers a more premium design than the models in the other series, but that’s not the case for the 8000 4G. The phone is still plastic albeit with a chrome curved and frame that adds a premium feel. The color combo of Onyx Black and Citrine Gold is very similar to the era of the Nokia 8800 Arte series.
The front panel sports a 2.8 inch screen with QVGA resolution (320 x 240 pixels) while the back has a single 2MP camera. The Snapdragon 210 chipset is paired with 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage which is again expandable. Users also get Wi-Fi hotspot functionality, a headphone jack and FM radio.
The 1,500mAh battery charges via microUSB which can give up to 25 days of standby life on 4G connectivity. Along with Onyx Black and Citrine Gold colors, the 8000 4G is available in Opal White and Topaz Blue. The retail price is set at € 79
