Intel &#8216;s upcoming mobile PC processors, code-named \u201cTiger Lake,\u201d will be the first to integrate Thunderbolt 4.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In Thunderbolt 4, Intel did not add to the pre-existing standard data transfer rate of 40Gbps.<\/p>\n<p>However, the changes given focus on increasing 2x more accessories that can be connected simultaneously, the universal cable feature up to 2 meters and more sophisticated Dock technology.<\/p>\n<p>In a note shared , Intel also explained that the Thunderbolt 4 port will still use the USB-C connector .<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Thunderbolt\u2122 4 Preview \u2013 The Truly Universal Cable Connectivity Solution\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/l_mBBE4NIOE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Computers that support Thunderbolt 4 (with an 8000 series controller ) can still be connected to accessories with the previous technology, aka still using Thunderbolt 3.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a list of the new features and technologies in Thunderbolt 4 as well as a comparison table released by Intel .<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><span>Double the minimum video and data requirements of\u00a0<\/span><span>Thunderbolt<\/span><span>\u00a03.<\/span><\/em>\n<ul>\n<li><em><span>Video: Support for two 4K displays or one 8K display.<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><span>Data: PCIe at 32 Gbps for storage speeds up to 3,000 MBps.<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><em><span>Support for docks with up to four\u00a0<\/span><span>Thunderbolt<\/span><span>\u00a04 ports.<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><span>PC charging at least one computer port2.<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><span>Wake your computer from sleep by touching the keyboard or mouse when connected to a\u00a0<\/span><span>Thunderbolt<\/span><span>\u00a0dock.<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><span>Required\u00a0<\/span><span>Intel<\/span><span>\u00a0VT-d-based direct memory access (DMA) protection that helps prevent physical DMA attacks.\u00a0(Read more in the\u00a0<\/span><span>Thunderbolt<\/span><span>\u00a0Security Brief.)<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-235\" src=\"https:\/\/matob.web.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2020\/11\/Thunderbolt-4.jpg\" alt=\"Thunderbolt 4\" width=\"700\" height=\"409\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/matob.web.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2020\/11\/Thunderbolt-4.jpg 700w, https:\/\/matob.web.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2020\/11\/Thunderbolt-4-300x175.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Returning to controllers technology , Intel notes that Thunderbolt 4 will use the 8000 series controller which is divided into 2 types.<\/p>\n<p>Namely the type JHL8540 and JHL8340 on the computer.<\/p>\n<p>Then type JHL8440 controllers to be placed in accessories that will use Thunderbolt 4 technology<\/p>\n<p>Intel says that the first computers that will support Thunderbolt 4 will be released in late 2020.<\/p>\n<p>What about Apple? For those of you who don&#8217;t know, Apple will soon switch from Intel CPU technology and use its own CPU, aka Apple Silicon.
