Our priority is to have a significant and long-term impact to reduce carbon, by applying design to the principles of sustainability throughout the product development process, “said Prakash Arunkundrum, as Global Head of Operations and Sustainability at Logitech, Friday (13/11).

Because plastic is one of the most widely used materials at Logitech, “we are investing in a circular economy by recycling and reusing consumer products to push the boundaries of what is currently possible for recycled plastics,” he continues.

Over the past three years Logitech has focused on turning to recycled plastics across its product line as part of our efforts to protect the environment in a sustainable manner.

The company will ship more than 50 million devices made with recycled plastic starting late next year. Products containing post-consumer recycled plastics include the Logitech K120 and K400 PLUS keyboards, the C930e webcam, M100R and M190 mice, and the UE HYPERBOOM.

Meanwhile, the newest product to be made using recycled plastic is the ERGO M575 mouse, which is designed to maximize the use of recycled black, graphite, and off-white plastics.

The percentage of recycled plastic in each product will vary depending on the type, color and ingredients of a product. The percentage of product plastic components made from post-consumer recycled plastics currently ranges from 80% recycled plastic content, to no less than 20% for products whose lighter color is technically more complex.

For material availability, Logitech is working with plastics suppliers to design new, stronger resins in new colors. In addition to recycled plastics, Logitech is working with external partners to develop a roadmap towards environmentally sustainable materials for the future.

By the end of 2021, more than 50% of the mice & keyboards in Logitech products will use recycled plastics, […]

[2
44,122,172
post-35","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-business","tag-climate-change","tag-logitech","tag-recycled-plastic
["GET
