{"id":3233,"date":"2023-10-12T20:41:40","date_gmt":"2023-10-12T20:41:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/matob.web.id\/random\/?p=3233"},"modified":"2023-10-12T20:41:40","modified_gmt":"2023-10-12T20:41:40","slug":"battery-bms-functions-and-how-the-battery-management-system-works","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/matob.web.id\/random\/battery-bms-functions-and-how-the-battery-management-system-works\/","title":{"rendered":"BMS 101: How the Battery Management System Keeps Your Electric Car Running Smoothly"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/matob.web.id\/random\/technology\/battery-bms-functions-and-how-the-battery-management-system-works\/\">Battery BMS<\/a>, Functions and How Battery Management Systems Work. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Lithium type batteries are usually structured to produce the desired voltage and capacity. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Since the average voltage of a lithium battery is 3.7V, a 3S (in series) arrangement is required to produce 12V.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">So that the voltage and current of this battery arrangement can be balanced, a system that can regulate it is needed, which is called BMS. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">So\u00a0 a <\/span><\/span><em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">battery management system<\/span><\/span><\/em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> \u00a0(BMS) is a device used for balancing, monitoring and protecting batteries that are arranged in series or stacked batteries. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">BMS is equipped with\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">passive cell balancing<\/span><\/span><\/em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> , voltage sensor for each battery, current sensor, temperature sensor, protection circuit to cut off the current.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The results of the study show that the BMS is able to read the battery voltage value with the\u00a0 largest <\/span><\/span><em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">error\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> of 4.59%, the current value with an\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">error<\/span><\/span><\/em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> of \u00a02.002% and the temperature value with an\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">error<\/span><\/span><\/em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> of \u00a00.83%.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Passive <\/span><\/span><\/em>\u00a0<em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">cell balancing<\/span><\/span><\/em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> \u00a0can transfer energy and the \u0394V of the battery has decreased to a value from 0.17 V to 0.14 V. The protection circuit can break the stacked battery circuit when conditions\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">are overcurrent<\/span><\/span><\/em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> ,\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">overheat<\/span><\/span><\/em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> ,\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><em><span the life of a battery pack. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">It is highly recommended that all battery-powered PLTS electric vehicles or battery banks be installed with tolerant of abuse, but lithium and NiMH can both be damaged irreversibly by a single incident of misuse such as overcharging <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">,\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">over <\/span><\/span><\/em><em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span overheating.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Functions and How the Battery BMS Works<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Some of the special functions of the battery management system include:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Charge <\/span><\/span><em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">balancing<\/span><\/span><\/em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> , to ensure all cells complete charging at the same time and then to prevent damage through overcharging.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Active balancing, in which energy is shifted from the stronger to the weaker cells, to ensure that all cells reach their point of maximum discharge at the same time.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Temperature monitoring ( <\/span><\/span><em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">temperature
